Celebrate Earth Day and World Book Day with Our Company

Today we celebrate Earth Day! At the Curious Crow Company, we try to live like every day is #earthday, and it is a pillar of our company ethos. So much so, that the decision to run a family business that deals with mostly second-hand items was intentional, as we aim to help reuse and recycle the amount of items out there while providing a unique retail experience. Our company pledges to be as environmentally responsible as possible in our day-to-day operations because the conservation and preservation of our beautiful world are quite important to us as parents and stewards for the next generations.

The 2024 Earth Day theme is Planet vs. Plastics with a collective goal of a 60% reduction in plastic usage. This can be achieved by reducing single-use plastic, rejecting ‘fast fashion’, spreading awareness of microplastics and their effects on biodiversity, and supporting more sustainable practices, technologies, and companies. At The Curious Crow Company, we have pledged to forgo single-use plastic bags for our retail items, cups for our tasty beverages, and other plastic products in our (soon-to-be-opened) store. We will encourage and reward reusable products, and spend the necessary money on providing that option to our patrons.

And, tomorrow is World Book Day, an international celebration of the power of books, and their ability to transcend generations, cultures, and even time itself. Our curated collection features fantasy and science fiction novels, with lots of player’s guides and manuals for most of your RPG needs. These books are about adventure; a pioneering spirit and a hopeful future filled with wonder and redemption. One of our favorite tasks in building this company has been searching for used and vintage books because we can happily get lost in the piles of them…and maybe take a short nap after reading through a chapter or two.

Did you know that April 23rd is a symbolic date in the world of literature? It is the date that several prominent authors, including William Shakespeare, all died. That is why UNESCO chose this date; as a tribute to authors and books, and a commitment to the access of knowledge.

We hope you will explore our online store, and even come visit us in person this summer for our grand opening! Construction is under way and starting to take shape and our projected opening time is in June of this year. Our space will be a haven for the curiously minded and a gathering place for one and all with some pretty epic events planned with some tasty, locally sourced beverages and snacks.

You can stay up to date on our opening timeline as well as any other events on our social media accounts, so make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook if you have not already.

Thanks for being a part of our community, our 'murder' of crows.

Stay weird and curious.
